Where the footprint was
Brackwater makes steel and larch garden furniture in Leeds. In 2019 its footprint was 61,200 tonnes, and 80% of it was bought in: hot-rolled steel, aluminium extrusions and timber.
What changed
The finance team connected meter data and supplier invoices in the first month. The waterfall showed that one steel supplier, Kestrel, was a fifth of the total. Brackwater agreed a switch to electric-arc steel and moved aluminium to recycled billet.
Where it is heading
With a renewable tariff at the Leeds plant and electric coating ovens planned, the 2030 projection now sits 1,250 tonnes under the target.
