Where the footprint was
Halloran bakes 1.2 million loaves a week for supermarkets across the North West. Three tunnel ovens run on gas, and the delivery fleet runs overnight.
What changed
Oven burners were logged every ten minutes. The data showed ovens held at temperature between shifts with nothing in them. A new schedule and heat recovery on oven two cut gas by 29%.
Where it is heading
Scope 1 fell from 7,850 to 6,120 tonnes. The fleet moves to HVO in 2026, and flour suppliers have been asked for farm-level data.
We changed the oven schedule, not the ovens, and the gas bill followed.
