Where the footprint was
Carrow Mill spins and weaves worsted cloth. Almost all of its footprint sits in wool, dyes and yarn bought from other mills, and in 2022 only 22% of that came from real supplier data.
What changed
Supplier requests went out through Loamra with a short form for each spinner and dyehouse. Replies replaced spend estimates line by line, and two dyehouses with high figures were swapped for ones running on heat pumps.
Where it is heading
Supplier data now covers 71% of purchased goods, and the figure fell by 19%. Next season’s buying plan is scored for carbon before orders go out.
Our buyers now ask spinners for a carbon figure the same way they ask for a price.
